Ready, Set...GO!!

This week we talked about TRANSPORTATION! The children learned names of different types of transportation and we talked about how each one moves. Each of our centers incorporated transportation. At the block center we added trains, an airplane and airport, and many types of school busses.  Outside in the water table we added some boats and submarines! During our yoga time we laid on our backs and pretended to ride bicycles--another form of transportation! During music we sang "Wheels on the Bus", and during art we put together sailboats made from different cut-out shapes.  The older children practiced cutting their own shapes! For math we used buttons as wheels to glue on a yellow school bus.  Each bus had a different number on it and we had to glue on the amount of "wheels" to correspond with the number.

We practiced the letter "Y" this week.  We learned how to sign the letter "Y" and we also learned a new word "YAUGHT" that is also a form of TRANSPORTATION.
