Back-2-School & Bridging the Gap Between Home and School

After a long weekend we are back at school for a new school year! We talked to the children about what a new school year means and discussed with them some of the new things we would be learning this school year. After a nice discussion the children listened to the book The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn which was very fitting for the first day of school.  After we read the book the teachers gave each child a bracelet to wear.  On the bracelet it said, " We listened to the book The Kissing Hand ask me about it!" We told the children to show their parents this bracelet.  We thought this was a nice way to promote conversation at home about what the children did at school.
