We spent a whole week talking about numbers. One of the main goals of number week, was for the children to understand that unlike letters, numbers can be spelled out as a word. One activity that really engaged the children was the number match. The children were given a piece of paper and from a pile of cards they had to find a number and the word that spells the number. Not only was this a great math activity, but it was also a great way for children to practice their letter and word recognition.
